The matte, titanium case has a truly contemporary appearance with recessed, neoprene-inlaid pushers, a deep-set, screw-down crown and incorporated lugs. The bidirectional bezel, using its minutes monitor and luminous dots at 5-minute intervals, provides the M2 the appearance of a sophisticated tool watch. The advantage of the bezel is grooved with a combination of little notches and arched cutouts. Over the last several decades, Alpina — along with its sister manufacturer Frédérique Constant — has become well known for its comparatively accessibly priced watches, and these brand new timepieces seem to be continuing this trend. This announcement in pricing also comes on the heels of the previous iteration of the Startimer Pilot Automatic, where the pricing specified by the brand typically hovered about $1,500.
You can quickly recognize the M2 Pioneer as a pilots’ view, but the Alpina’s identity is not as easy to pin down.
