Co-founded by Sydney Dong and Dr Christopher Tay, Hong Kong based replica watch brand SD-09 presents its Spacecraft Timepiece on popular crowd funding platform, Kickstarter. The aim of the project is to collect a minimum amount of HK$ 390,000 in order to fund the initial mass production of SD-09 Spacecraft Timepiece collection.
Inspired by Sci-Fi ethos, the SD-09™ Spacecraft Replica Watch has an easy-to-read multi-layered sandwich dial and sub-dial disks boast luminescent hour and minute markings and hands, coated with the Swiss Super-LumiNova™ C3 (light green). Hour and minute hands made with gold brass with diamond cut finish.
The application of luminous material is distributed in several different ways. The numbers at 9 o’clock and 12 o’clock are painted with a layer of Super-LumiNova C3 below the sandwich dial. Each second marking on the dial ring is hand painted with Super-LumiNova C3 with great precision and craftsmanship. Each three dimensional semi-circular ball shape around the dial ring looks like the stars in the space. Super-LumiNova C3 is filled in to the hour, minute hands, markings and the sub-dial disc.
Made by skilled Japanese artisans with high quality aluminum, the sub-dial disc seconds was inspired by UFO spacecrafts. It looks like an engine of the spacecraft while functioning as a sweeping second hand.
Its multi-part replica watch case consists of more than 20 different parts. Every part of the replica watch is created with great care and hand assembled with patience and craftsmanship. The Swiss Sapphire crystal is used with anti-reflective coating on both the lens and the case back. The transparent sapphire crystal case back displays the beautiful automatic movement.
The SD-09™ Spacecraft Replica Watch is fitted with a Crown Protection System that guarantees superior water and shock resistance by preventing accidental damage to the crown and. It resists water leakage as well. Three O-rings are placed around the crown for gasket seal.
The Crown Protection System also ensures the crown must be pushed-in to its original secure position after adjusting the time & date. Each SD-09™ Spacecraft Timepiece is tested for a water resistance up to 100 meters / 10 Bar water resistance. The SD-09™ Spacecraft Replica Watch is equipped with the Miyota caliber 8218 self winding movement.
Each timepiece is paired with a hand-braided, genuine calf leather strap sourced from Italy. These straps will be fitted with 316L Stainless steel clasp featuring engraved brand logo & vertical brushed finish. The leather straps will have a quick release system for easy changing of straps.
Soon after successful KS campaign, the first 500 pieces of SD-09™ spacecraft timepieces will be produced with individually numbered especially for early backers. After the first 500 pieces, the SD-09™ Spacecraft Timepiece will not be produced with individually numbered cases nor will they be considered as Limited Edition.
Every package will include one leather strap & one extra silicone strap. The full retail price for the SD-09™ Spacecraft Timepiece will be HKD3,380 / US$437. The SD-09 Spacecraft Timepiece offers a 1-year limited warranty on all replica watches which covers manufacturing defects.

Note: There are some minor changes in design for final production. This will not affect any functions of this timepiece, but will make it a cleaner and better design and customer experience. In the updated design:-
- The word of “spaceship” on the bezel will not be included and the same word on the case back will be changed to “spacecraft”
- The smallest hex screws (only 2 mm) except on the bezel will be changed to circle shaped screws & will not stick out.
